Your gift of leg braces can give a child with disabilities a whole new outlook on life, allowing them to participate in society.
Children with disabilities in the Democratic Republic of Congo don’t get to participate in society unless given a chance. There are two barriers that limit them: abject poverty and societal views of their disability. Left at home, these children remain ostracized. Only about 50 percent of all children are able to go to primary school and the percentage is significantly lower among children who have physical disabilities. StandProud equips these children with simple orthopedic leg braces and teaches the children how to use them, thus significantly improving their overall well-being, and allows them to participate in school and activities.
